Trane

TraneFor nearly a century, the Trane Corporation has manufactured some of the most reliable and innovative HVAC products in the industry. The company was founded by James Trane, a Norwegian immigrant, in 1913. An accomplished steam fitter and plumber, Trane is credited with inventing a low-pressure heating system and developing one of the first centrifugal refrigeration machines.

Over the past 100 years, Trane has grown into an industry leader that manufactures equipment for virtually every segment of the residential and commercial HVAC market. This includes central air conditioning systems, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless systems, coils, chillers, and a variety of accessories.

Acquired by Ingersoll Rand in 2008, Trane currently services 400 markets in over 100 countries. The company has an extensive global dealer network of more than 10,000 affiliates and nearly 10,000 sales engineers and service professionals.

Air Conditioning

Trane offers air conditioning equipment in both split-system and packaged unit configurations. Air conditioners include a wide array of comfort and energy efficiency features designed to fit every budget and application. Each air conditioning series carries a 10-year limited parts and labor warranty, and compressor warranties cover 10 years for entry-level models and 12 years for more advanced units.

  • Split Systems: Trane split systems provide quiet comfort through the isolation of the outdoor condensing unit and the indoor air handler. Units are available in efficiency ratings from 13-20 SEER. Every Trane Split system model includes a heavy-duty coil guard, a corrosion resistant finish, and a proprietary Climatuff compressor. High-end models offer two-stage cooling, variable-speed blowers, and communicating ability for optimal performance.
  • Package Units: Trane Package units include a condenser, air handler, and furnace inside a single, rugged cabinet. Models are available in straight air conditioning and gas pack designs. Every Trane package unit includes a reinforced Weatherbeater cabinet top and a high-performance blower. Efficiencies range from 13-16.6 SEER for air conditioning and gas/electric models have an AFUE rating of 80.

Heat Pumps

Trane heat pumps are characterized by their ability to reverse the flow of refrigerant, which provides both heating and cooling in a single system. Heat pumps are available in both split system and package unit designs at a variety of performance levels. All Trane heat pumps carry a 10-year limited parts warranty and a 10-12 year compressor warranty, depending on the model.

  • Split Heat Pumps: Trane split heat pumps are offered in multiple efficiencies ranging from 13-20 SEER and 8-9.2 HSPF in heating mode. All heat pump models include baked on powder paint, the Weatherguard fastening system, and a Climatuff compressor. Advanced models offer two-stage operation, a variable speed fan, and communicating capability.
  • Package Heat Pumps: Package heat pumps from Trane are designed to provide a low profile and many years of reliable and economical operation. Manufactured with efficiencies from 13-16.6 SEER and 9 HSPF, Trane also offers a dual-fuel model that includes a gas furnace for colder climates.

Furnaces

Trane furnaces are engineered to provide reliable and economical operation throughout the lifecycle of the equipment. Furnace models are available in both gas and oil configurations to give consumers a broad selection of efficiencies and fuel choices.

  • Gas Furnaces: As an industry leader in gas furnace technology, Trane includes a four-speed blower in its entry level models. AFUE ratings range from 80-97.3, and fully-featured models include a variable-speed blower, multi-port burners, a modulating gas valve, and communicating capability. All Trane gas furnaces carry a 10-year limited warranty on internal parts and a minimum 20-year warranty on the heat exchanger.
  • Oil Furnaces: In areas where fuel oil is inexpensive relative to propane or natural gas, an oil furnace may be the right choice. Trane oil furnaces use hot-rolled steel heat exchangers to provide dependable and economical heat transfer. The combustion chamber in an oil furnace is complex and critical for economical operation. Trane uses a ceramic fiber material to achieve better combustion efficiency and a cleaner burn. Furnaces are available with AFUE ratings up to 85, and each oil furnace carries a 20-year limited warranty on parts and a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger.

Air Quality/Indoor Air Controls

Clean air is an important part of maintaining a safe and healthy indoor environment. Trane manufactures three unique air cleaner models designed to remove smoke, animal dander, pollen, and other airborne particulate matter. Filter cabinets house either disposable pleated filters or a five-inch media filter. The Trane Clean Effects unit includes reusable filters and is 99.98 percent effective against pathogens as small as .1 micron.

To help keep indoor air healthy and free of contaminants, Trane has introduced an energy recovery ventilator that continually draws fresh air into the living area while exhausting stale, polluted air. In conjunction with a bypass or powered humidifier, Trane provides a complete indoor air quality solution for homes with sealed ductwork and a tight perimeter.

Mini Split Ductless

When a structural issue prevents the installation of ductwork in an air distribution system, ductless mini-splits can be a viable option. Mini split technology is extremely quiet, exceptionally efficient and includes zoning capabilities to enhance comfort.

Trane manufactures ductless heat pumps with SEER ratings from 16-22. Multi-zone design allows up to five indoor air handling units to work off a single condensing unit. Indoor high-wall enclosures are attractive and every system can be operated via remote control.

Unsurpassed Quality

Trane continues to engineer some of the most advanced equipment in the HVAC industry. Across all product lines, dedicated professionals work tirelessly to improve performance, efficiency, and dependability. The reliability of Trane equipment saves time and money while improving indoor comfort, which provides peace of mind for countless satisfied customers.
